It's here!

Well folks, it has been sneaking up on us for weeks now, but it has finally arrived...
the holiday season!

Not only is it here, but it is the FIRST one for my little Peanut!!
I have decided to start the season off with a bang - we have four Halloween parties in the next three days.  Not only that, but I am running a Halloween themed 5k on Saturday - an hour before the party I am hosting!  I am a bit stressed now but SUPER excited.  :)
There's only one thing that I am a bit worried about - I only have one costume for Peanut - keep your fingers crossed for me that we can keep it semi-clean!!  I have a feeling it will be in the wash more than once this weekend.

Taming the wild

Have you entered my giveaway yet?  Click HERE to enter!
One of my favorite combinations lately has been leopard and floral prints.  I just love the way the the leopard  print toughens up the sweet floral - or is it that the floral print tames the wild leopard?  Either way, I like it! :)
So I am stealing my blog post idea from the lovely and talented Kimberellie.  Have you read her blog yet?  You should - she's awesome.  She did a post on a "behind the scenes" look at her day - I thought I would give you mine!
So here is a "behind the scenes" look at my day so far (as of 12pm) -  but first, a shot of my fabulous shoes:
I am:
  • Writing my blog post for the day
  • Keeping an ear open for Peanut to wake from his nap
  • Watching Ellen on my DVR
I have:
  • Cleaned up Peanut's diaper explosion
  • Done two loads of laundry
  • Given Peanut a bath due to point number one
  • Made breakfast - Peanut and I both had oatmeal with pumpkin puree (pics of pumpkin puree coming soon!).
  • Sent a get well card to a friend
  • Talked to my mom
  • Washed the dishes/ran the dishwasher
  • Made the bed - tidied up the bedroom
I want:
  • A nap - we were up at 4am
  • A Cosi TBM (tomato, basil & mozzarella) sandwich
  • To go for a walk with Peanut
  • To figure out how to wear this.  I love it but I just don't get how to put it on!
I am going to:
  • Spend some time with my mom and sister today
  • Prepare for my Halloween party on Saturday
  • Figure out my costume - at least Peanut has his!
  • Watch the Rocky Horror Glee Show a million more times - it was so good!
  • Wish you all a fabulous Wednesday!

Back to mommyland

While my hubby will be around this weekend to take some more pics outside, for today, it's back to Peanut's room.
Blazer - Rachel Roy, Vest - Brooks Brothers, Tee - LOFT, Jeans - GAP,
Shoes - Shoedazzle, Scarf - Modcloth

But really, isn't that the reality of motherhood?  You spend most of your time in the nursery.
And to be honest, there is nowhere in the world I would rather be.  Notice how Peanut's bathrobe made it in the pic.  Isn't it cute?  It's a ducky robe! :)  As you can see, I'm looking down on my son here - he had just chucked Sophie the Giraffe across the bed - this kid has quite an arm!!
All bundled up and ready to go.  Where to, you ask?  To Target baby!  Then it's back home for some light housework, laundry and then Tia and my inlaws are coming for dinner!
What can I say?  I live a glamorous life. :)
But you know what?  I wouldn't trade it for anything!
This closeup's for you, Style Underdog! :)

Hangin' with the boys

Perhaps it's the fact that I live with 2 boys, but I have developed a love for menswear inspired pieces.  This blazer definitely tops the list.  It's made of a jersey fabric so it's super comfortable!
Then, of course, there's the "boy fit" pant.  I think it's my new favorite shape!  It's more fitted at the ankle, so it showcases the shoe, but it's looser on top.  This, again, adds to the comfort factor!
And I love a good pocket. :)
But, of course, with this much comfort, I need to add a fabulous wedge - so glad the weather is still open toe worthy!
Add some stick straight hair, hot pink lipstick and what are becoming my favorite sunnies, and I'm ready to go!
Life is good when my hubby is around to take my pics! :)

Happiness is...

Dress - F21, Jacket - GAP, Necklace and Sunnies - Modcloth,
Boots - Wanted via Amazon

For the past few weeks, my family has been SUPER busy with extended family stuff and hubby's work. So this weekend, we decided we would hang out just the 3 of us.  It has been so wonderful spending quality time with my hubby and Peanut.  Because we don't get a lot of time alone together, we really treasure the times when we do.  What makes it even better is the fact that the weather is beyond beautiful!  We have been spending all our time outdoors.  One of my favorite things to do is just walk for hours down the boardwalk.  There is nothing better than taking a long walk on the river on a beautiful day with my 2 favorite boys.
Life is good.
