Merrily we Sew Along...

Ever since I got my new sewing machine back in December, I have been sewing up a storm!  There is nothing better than seeing an outfit you like and making it yourself.  Since I am always up for a challenge, I have entered TWO Sew Alongs from two of my favorite sewing blogs.

The first sew along is being hosted by the ever so fabulous Peter of Male Pattern Boldness where we will be sewing my first ever men's shirt.  My husband is thrilled to be getting a custom shirt - I just hope I make him proud!

The second one is a 1940's style Swing Dress sew along hosted by the always beautiful Casey of Casey's Elegant Musings.  I have always been drawn to clothing from this era because it fits my body so well so I am REALLY excited to make this dress!

Once a week I will be doing a post on my progress - I am so excited to get started!

Interested in joining me?  I will have the buttons for the sew along in my sidebar.  Make sure to let me know and I will link your site in my progress posts! :)

  2. I can't wait to see how everything comes out! I have always loved 1940s style dresses, too :)

(I myself am sadly not so crafty).

  5. I love that you're doing this! It looks like alot of fun! I should join....but I don't know how exactly it's supposed to work, and it looks like it's going to take way too long..haha...what I mean is I would want to finish it in a few days, not months

  6. Ok putting me to shame here... my goal is to sew one item of clothing per month for me and I've done half a skirt and have not touched it for about 2 weeks. Gotta keep the motivation going!!! Looking forward to see what you sew!

  7. Oh i wish i could join you too. Me sewing skills are not that good yet. Can't wait to watch you along the process.

On a selfish note: if you know a clever way to take in a shirt that is easier than darts can you do a DIY?? Just a selfish thought.
