My Gal Friday

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for... My Gal Friday!
Today's Gal Friday is Natasha from Required2beInspired

What do you think is your best feature and why?  My bubble butt! Because it looks great in everything! haha

What do you think is your best (non physical) trait and why?  My giggle...because I do a lot of it...and it's unique to me.

What (non physical) traits do you admire in others?  Would honesty and respect be a trait? Kelly -Absolutely! :)

What three words would you use to describe yourself?  Creative, Silly, Shy

Is there anything about yourself that at one time bothered you but now you love?  I used to hate my lips so much.  I remember in elementary school on picture day practicing smiling in front of the mirror while trying to suck in my bottom lip.  I'm so glad I grew out of that stage...people spend big bucks to get juicy lips like these!

If you could give your child a piece of advice about having a positive self image, what would it be?  I don't know what it would be....I think that if you as a parent can show by example a positive self image then you shouldn't have to give your child any advice, because actions speak louder than words.  As parents we can't stand in front of the mirror and say "I look horrible today"..."I'm too fat to wear this"...etc...our kids are watching and taking it all in!!

What do you wish you hadn't worried about when you were younger?  What would you tell yourself if you could go back?  I shouldn't have worried about that one blob of cellulite...it came when I was about 13...so I started wearing shorts over my bathing suit to hide it...when I first started dating my hubby (at 17) he somehow managed to convince me I didn't need to wear shorts...now I have no idea what I was thinking...I look way better in bikini bottoms than I ever did in those shorts!!
What do you see when you look in the mirror? A big smile! For some reason whenever I walk by a mirror I like to give myself a big smile...weird I know...but I'd rather look at a smile than a frown!

Anything else you would like to share about positive body image/inner beauty?  I remember hearing someone famous in politics (can't remember who) say that he chose the people who worked for him by what their face looked like.  He then elaborated to say that the kind of person you are shows on your face, if you smile a lot it will show as you age, and if you're unhappy and frown a lot is will also show....so he chose the people with the smile/laugh lines!

Thanks Natasha!  Wonderful answers!  I really like your attitude on self image. It's so important to talk ourselves up, especially with girls - kids really do mimic everything we do!

Natasha-your eyes and lips are so striking. I remember doing the same thing with my lips. How funny it seems now.

  9. Oh how great is Gal Friday! I love the story about the politician, I've started noticing my smile lines and fearing that they are appearing too early, but that is so true, it just shows that I laugh and smile a lot!!
