The Un-Sweatpant

Those of you who have been following my blog for a while know that after having my son, I vowed never to be one of those moms who wears sweatpants and sweatshirts all day, every day.  However, I do try to dress in a way that is both fashionable AND comfortable ( I do spend my days playing with a baby after all!).  This is why I got so excited when J Crew advertised the "Un-Sweatpant".
Merino un-sweatpant
"What is this?!"  I thought to myself - the comfort of sweatpants in a non-sweatpant fabric?  I decided I had to investigate!  So off to J Crew I went with my 25% off coupon in hand (because really - why shop there without one?).  When I tried them on, I was in heaven.  They are so comfortable, and made with a merino wool/nylon blend, so they look almost like a cross between a sweater and a knit pant.  Unfortunately, even with my coupon, $78 is a lot to spend on these pants.  But wait!  They are on promotion?  An extra 30% off?!  SOLD! :)
So back to my house they went.  But how to style them?  I went to the J Crew website and read;

"The epitome of luxury loungewear. Our modern take on the sweatpant is so stylish (and supremely comfortable) you'll want to wear it everywhere—with everything...We're pairing ours with a classic blazer, sparkling accessories and heels."

Ah ha!  I have those pieces!  So on they went - the sequined tank, blazer, sparkling ring and red heels.

I think I'm in love.
While I am still deciding if I can pull this look off, the fit, the cinched ankle and the fabric of these pants are wonderful!  More styling options to come when I have time to play in my closet...

So - what do you think?  Can these pants be dressed up or are they strictly for around the house/weekend wear?
