Today is a very bittersweet day for me. I just finished drafting my resignation letter for the job I have been at and loved since 2004. Even though I have been thinking about leaving since I first held my son in my arms, it only became real when I began typing. Through my job I met two of my best friends, worked with super talented musicians, and had amazing students. I loved my job so much which is not something everyone can say. However, with my husband's crazy work schedule, I know that at this point in our lives, the most important thing is for my son to have one parent at home and I do love my new job of housewife and mommy.
Phew - ok, thank you for letting me get that off my chest *wipe away a tear*.
Now, onto my outfit-
Tee - Target, Jeans, GAP, Shoes - Shoe Dazzle, Bangles - Coach
It's basically a tee shirt and jeans, but the rose print and red heels make it a bit more girly.
Check out the cutie patootie in the background! He's rocking his Yankees track suit. :)
Congratulations on this new stage of your live, changing is always good (even when it hurts a little) but you have more than good reasons.
ReplyDeleteThe look is cute and your shoes are so, so nice.
Love red pumps.

ReplyDeleteIt's fortunate that you do have a choice and are able to stay home with that cute little boy! Nice outfit!

Congrats and I will be thinking of you for the next few weeks. I know when I left (g was only 5 months old) it took me some time to get used to staying home but now I wouldn't have it any other way! Love ya!

You will not regret one single day of being home with your son! My three sons are grown and I we are empty nesters at 42. I have owned businesses and been a stay at home Mom, no question... staying home was the best.
ReplyDeleteHave a pretty day!
Kristin
Oh, I'm sure that would be really hard! But it's a decision I'm sure you'll be glad you made--your son will be so lucky to have you home!
ReplyDeleteI love how you made this cute jeans & tee look a bit more special with the print and heels!
Im in MAD love with the heels dollie....super chic look:) Congrats on your mommy job....you already do it so wonderfully....now you can do it full time:)
ReplyDeleteOH, I am sorry. I totally know what you are going through. THat decision was made for me when the company I worked for 11 years decided to close their San Diego branch a month after I gave birth to my son. I was all about my job. I loved the people I worked and had built such amazing friendships. It was my life. I was ecstatic to be home with my son and if we can financially sustain it would never want to go back. However, even to this day whenever I think about my old job or company or memories of all the fun we had I always feel melancholy.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to love being a SAHM though. I just know it.
I know how you feel leaving a job that you love. I did just that when I had Emma. I only started working again when she was 20 months old. But you know I didn't regret it. The time I spent with Emma at home was priceless, and there are so many things that you could do and get involved in.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck! I know it will be a great experience :)
Also, you look great!
Any change is hard, but worth it. If you are a working mom or a SAHM there are sacrifices. I'm ready to get back to work, 3 1/2 years of being at home has almost done me in - lol! You will be a great SAHM! Love those red shoes girl!
ReplyDeleteStaying home is a tough decision for many moms, as is working! Either way, you gain a lot and you lose a bit. I greatly enjoy being a SAHM, and I'm lucky that we can afford for me to stay home, but I also miss the brain-power grownup world of WOH. It's not forever, though: they're only little for a few short years! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteK. Bean, very well said!
ReplyDeleteThe rose print and red pumps totally make this a girly girl outfit. Adorable red pumps. Love them.
