Bittersweet

Today is a very bittersweet day for me.  I just finished drafting my resignation letter for the job I have been at and loved since 2004.  Even though I have been thinking about leaving since I first held my son in my arms, it only became real when I began typing.  Through my job I met two of my best friends, worked with super talented musicians, and had amazing students.  I loved my job so much which is not something everyone can say.  However, with my husband's crazy work schedule, I know that at this point in our lives, the most important thing is for my son to have one parent at home and I do love my new job of housewife and mommy.

Phew - ok, thank you for letting me get that off my chest *wipe away a tear*.

Now, onto my outfit-
Tee - Target, Jeans, GAP, Shoes - Shoe Dazzle, Bangles - Coach

It's basically a tee shirt and jeans, but the rose print and red heels make it a bit more girly.

Check out the cutie patootie in the background!  He's rocking his Yankees track suit. :)

Congrats and I will be thinking of you for the next few weeks. I know when I left (g was only 5 months old) it took me some time to get used to staying home but now I wouldn't have it any other way! Love ya!

  10. OH, I am sorry. I totally know what you are going through. THat decision was made for me when the company I worked for 11 years decided to close their San Diego branch a month after I gave birth to my son. I was all about my job. I loved the people I worked and had built such amazing friendships. It was my life. I was ecstatic to be home with my son and if we can financially sustain it would never want to go back. However, even to this day whenever I think about my old job or company or memories of all the fun we had I always feel melancholy.
You are going to love being a SAHM though. I just know it.

  11. I know how you feel leaving a job that you love. I did just that when I had Emma. I only started working again when she was 20 months old. But you know I didn't regret it. The time I spent with Emma at home was priceless, and there are so many things that you could do and get involved in.

Good Luck! I know it will be a great experience :)

    Also, you look great!

  12. Any change is hard, but worth it. If you are a working mom or a SAHM there are sacrifices. I'm ready to get back to work, 3 1/2 years of being at home has almost done me in - lol! You will be a great SAHM! Love those red shoes girl!

  13. Staying home is a tough decision for many moms, as is working! Either way, you gain a lot and you lose a bit. I greatly enjoy being a SAHM, and I'm lucky that we can afford for me to stay home, but I also miss the brain-power grownup world of WOH. It's not forever, though: they're only little for a few short years! Enjoy!
